Junebug Days 2012 Begins!

This incredible photo was taken by John Kimbler
If you like bugs and other members of the natural world, go and visit his blog and his gallery.

Apparently, there is some debate about which is the real junebug--the brown ones or the green ones.
I like the green ones! This photo was the only one I could find that showed this much color in a green Junebug.
And that goes right along with this year's Junebug Days fun, because it's all about color.

Here's the plan.

Each week we will celebrate one of four selected colors. Who selected them? Well, me of course! I get to make all the important decisions around here at figknits. These four colors are my summer 2012 color picks and they are BRIGHT!

There are four Mondays in June, so we will have four challenges, each one beginning on Monday, running through that week until Saturday, when I will award the prize--a goody box collected with that week's color as the theme. This year's challenge is for all you crafters and artists out there who also dabble in photography.

That's all I'm telling for now, but I will be back tomorrow with
ALL the details!

Happy June!

Sounds like loads of fun! I've never seen green junebugs before, only the brown ones. I always feel badly for them because they get stuck in the most horrible places.

Oh, it'll be fun, alrighty! Loads of color. I'm having fun just getting ready for it. Poor brown junebugs...that's why we'll be the green kind. Nothing that colorful could get stuck anywhere.
