You'll put your eye out!

Funny story.

I have been spending my days with Iain (my current Aran), and Fred doesn't even mind! Anyway, when I'm doing cables and I have my hair lassoed on top of my head, I tend to stick the cable needle into my hair to keep from losing the darned thing. (No, don't suggest cabling w/o cable needles--I am a staunch cable needle user.) I worked on Iain right up until bed last night, so what do I find in my hair this morning as I slurp my precious coffee? Yep, the cable needle. Stayed right in there all night long. Do you know what my darling husband' s response was?

"Good thing it didn't put my eye out!"

I do that with pens and needles too! I've had pens fall out in the shower in the morning.

I refuse to cable w/o a cable needle, too! I don't stick them in my hair, but inevitably I leave them w/in reach of the little grabby baby boy. The other day I left the room for a moment and came back to find him w/ a cable needle in one hand and a crochet hook in the other. He hasn't put an eye out yet, but my husband is waiting so he can say "I told you to keep those things away from him!"
