Done Vacationing & Wiggling

Not just any old wiggling, but Aran Wiggling.

I just finished her yesterday. After miles of turtleneck, then the end weaving and the Kitchener on the underarm join, here she is. I couldn't even wait to block it before I fit it to the Hilda with the wacky hand (that hand makes me crazy, but she's my one and only model and I love her). This one is a perfect size 36 and hugs Hilda so well, don't you think? Again, the Elsebeth Lavold Classic AL was so soft and fun to knit with. I wish I could wear this one, but it's a shop model.

Besides, I wouldn't wear it right now, and I'm even glad I am done knitting it, because we are having a little heat wave. It's supposed to go to 97 today, and I believe it. The stange thing is, we have boisterous breezes accompanying this thing. I guess that's a good thing--it would feel even hotter if not for that. I'm staying in with the AC, obviously.

THANK YOU to all of you who gave me birthday wishes! Over the past week, Fred has joined me in half-centuryness, and we went on a camping/hiking trip to celebrate. I have always wanted to go to the Washington Peninsula and see the Hoh Rain Forest and the coast at La Push, and that's just what we did. We almost did the whole 101 loop, but on the way home (and after a lovely July 4 day at Hurricane Ridge) we shot on home by way of Bremerton and Hwy 16 (with a look at the Tacoma Narrows Bridge). We had a wonderful week off at home and on the road. If you'll click on the Flickr thingy over in the sidebar, you can see some of my pictures. Lovely.

Now it's back to work--patterns to edit, patterns to write, and always knitting!

Happy Month of Harry!
(Today the fifth movie & in ten days the seventh book!)

How pretty! Is that your design? (You know how I'm so partial to arans)

What a gorgeous aran jumper. I love cables, and that one looks so feminine too. You are such a fantastic knitter, and I spent yesterday reading your blog which was quite a good read and plenty of wonderful garments that you have made too.

I found your blog......I read your post about your vacation. Sounds like one of ours a couple years ago. We love that area.
check out my blog when you get time between knitting and designing.
