Loot!
Monday was exciting--I got two packages in the mail. The first was a joint BD present for Fred and me (our birthdays are 10 days apart). From my oldest, Emily, the bookstore employee/coffee shop manager--Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone in Irish Gaelic! Oh boy! I can't wait to delve in. As soon as I finish Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman, I'm there with my Irish dictionary. The Irish is similar to the Scottish, so not so foreign to me. What fun!
The other box was full of lovely yarn from Marr Haven Farms. I contacted Barb Marr and asked for the yarn card you see here, and she also sent me a little hunk of the worsted so I could judge better. She was wonderful to communicate with and everything was done toute de suite.
I have enough of the grey worsted to make a large Aran, and this is my first cone. They sell the sport weight only in cones to keep it from getting tangled. That will probably be a baby Aran and/or some socks! I've gotta get done with some OTN projects so I can sink my needles into this gorgeous stuff. It smells lovely, too. Their yarn is processed on their own farm from their Merino and Rambouillet wools without chemicals. Love it! See?
Well, there's no way you can tell from a pic--even a close-up. Trust me--go and order some. I'll show some swatching when I get to it. Also, Clara at Knitter's Review has reviewed this yarn here.
Figheadh Sona Dhut, you guys!
