Mostly not yarn

That's right--this post has very little yarn, so if that's what you came to see, come back next time! Instead, I'm trying to start catching up with posts by recounting a few life experiences of late.
Fred and I finally took a hike a couple of weeks ago up to Rampart Ridge at Mt. Rainier.
It was lovely.
Just a part of the trail--the part with no bugs, that is. Because on the ridge itself we got attacked! First bug bites I've had since leaving Georgia, I think!
Mt. Rainier from the trail. Looks much different than from Tacoma!

In June, I was surprised by my lady friends with my very first surprise party for my birthday! Yep, they got me. Gave me these lovely flowers and a yummy brunch! I got pretty cards from them and from family, and I got a knitted cupcake from Kelli and some Tori from Emily. I even tried to do some sock knitting totally for me...and I haven't gotten much farther than what you see. Smack in the middle you see my new iPod Nano from Fred. I love it!! I loaded it full of Celtic music, bagpipes, Tori, Tom, Elvis, David, Ani, etc. Sweet!

Then in July Fred and I celebrated 8 years together and he gave me roses. I could fill the house with all the roses this man has given me since we refound each other 8 years last May. He's a sweet man and I am very fortunate to be married to him.
Next post I should tell you about the person who's come to stay with us for a while and about some new designs I've published lately. Let's hope I get that done before another month (or two) go by.
Stay cool! Fall's coming!
