Took a break...

Hi! Thanks for being patient with me. I had to take an unplanned break from the 'net. Not only have I not blogged, I haven't even been reading other blogs! I've got so much to catch up on there. I've been subbing a tremendous lot and working on designs--new & old. I think I'm almost done revamping my "old" patterns. Not so old--I have to keep reminding myself how new I still am to this. Career #5, it is!

First, I'll show you the new Mairead sample that I told you time before last I was going to do. The first one was in a less than desirable yarn (i.e. cheeep) and it was red and tuff to photograph.

This one's done in Cascade 220--the blanket in heathered orange (#2436) and the bunting & cap in Quatro (#5011). Jaunty and springlike, huh? I just had to add some daffodils from the yard.

At roughly the same time, I made another Backbone Cable Sweater sample. The first one was done in Black Water Abbey yarn, which I love, but which needs a wash to soften it. I did not know that when I used it, and so did not account for the even small amount of shrinkage. It's now my sweater, so I made another Fred's size so we would have a better pic. In the process, I improved the pattern. It's all good.

Here is the new sample in (again) Cascade 220 in a beautiful wine-colored heather (#4006). This sweater was simply a joy to make.

I probably never got to tell you that this was actually Fred's concept. He asked for the handprint and picked out the cable to be the backbone. He also picked out the color for this version. Now he has one that fits.

Fred and I have also been working on brochures and catalogs, etc., to do some mailers. We need more wholesale accounts! If any of you would like to see Figheadh Yarnworks patterns in your lys, just tell the owners to email us for info. Thanks a bunch!

Today, I felted a crocheted bag which is a prototype for a design I'm doing for Interweave Crochet! Yea! I am really excited about the project. You should see the result in the Fall 2007 issue.
